Embrace and Be Embraced

Embrace and Be Embraced

For the past year, we have been longing to be embraced once again—and although there have been times of despair, most of us leaned into hope. Leaned into the hope of our leaders, scientists, healthcare workers, and first responders, but trustingly, we also leaned into the hope from our God. Like Noah and his family, we’ve been hulled up in our arks waiting for the sun. That sun shines brightly on the droplets, refracts, and creates a beautiful rainbow—which embraces the earth. When Noah and his family emerged, they were all that was left of humanity. When we surface, we still have our family, friends, loved ones, and neighbours ready to embrace and be embraced.

This Lenten season, as we move toward the hope and promise of Easter—let us know how St. Monica can embrace you and your family. Whether through Hope at the Door, Stephen Ministries, or the pandemic response fund, we are here to serve, support, and sustain the parish and civic communities. The generosity of our parishioners makes that possible. Let us pray, fast, and give on behalf of our God, who provides so much into the desert of hope and promise.
